Additional Information about Smith Johnson Tech Company Benefits

HEALTH INSURANCE

SelectHealth Group health insurance is available to all full-time employees who work at least 30 hours a week. Employees are eligible the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. Employees will be given a summary of available plans upon hire. Smith Johnson pays 70% of medical premium per month for employee, two party and family plans.

DENTAL AND VISION INSURANCE

EMI Health dental insurance is available to all full-time employees who work at least 30 hours a week. Employees are eligible the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. Smith Johnson pays 70% of the dental premium for employee, two party and family plans.

TERM LIFE AND AD&D INSURANCE

A Term Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment policy is offered to all full-time employees. The company provides basic coverage at no cost to the employee. Each employee receives $20,000 in term life and AD&D coverage, spouse receives $5,000 and each child receives $2,000.

Employees can purchase additional coverage for themselves, their spouse and their dependents at a reasonable cost if they so choose. Premiums are deducted from paychecks.

RETIREMENT PLAN

Employees can elect to participate in our group retirement plan. This plan is most commonly referred to as a Simplified Employee Pension Plan (SIMPLE IRA). Smith Johnson provides matching contributions up to a 3% maximum. An employee becomes eligible for participation the 1st of the month following 30 days employment.

LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE

Smith Johnson carries an LTD policy for its employees. This plan provides financial protection to the employee by paying 60% of their income in the event they become disabled (Maximum benefit of $6,000 per month). The amount paid is based on the amount earned before disability began and starts on the 91st day of disability.

PAID TIME OFF (PTO)

Smith Johnson offers employees a benefit of paid time off (PTO) that combines vacation, holiday and sick time. Employees are eligible to start accruing PTO the 1st of the month after their start date. PTO, when accrued, is available for use the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment.

HOLIDAYS

Holidays are to be determined by the client’s schedule.
Contractors may use PTO to cover Holidays.

COMPANY EVENTS

Smith Johnson organizes annual summer and winter parties for all employees. They always include a nice meal at a fun, local location.
